From the tender age of four, Morale Hoskins embarked on what would become a lifelong journey in the world of music. It began with the drumset, an instrument that ignited his passion for rhythm and sound. As he entered middle school, his musical repertoire expanded to include the tuba, marking the beginning of a diverse and rich musical exploration.
Morale's high school years were pivotal; it was then that he realized his true calling was in music, and he dedicated himself to pursuing it as a profession. This dedication and talent led him to an extraordinary opportunity: a position in the prestigious United States Marine Corps bands. Over the next seven years, Morale's musical talents flourished. He toured extensively across the Pacific-Asia regions and the United States, experiencing a wide array of musical cultures and styles. His time with the Marine Band allowed him to delve into various genres and ensembles, ranging from brass quintets and choirs to wind ensembles, and even New Orleans styled Brass Bands and Jazz Combos. This period was not just a professional engagement; it was an expansive musical education that honed his skills and broadened his horizons.
In 2019, Morale's journey took an exciting turn when he was stationed in New Orleans. The city, known for its rich musical heritage, proved to be a fertile ground for his artistic growth. He quickly immersed himself in the local music scene, particularly in the vibrant world of secondline brass bands. This immersion was more than an adaptation; it was an embrace of a musical culture that resonated deeply with his own artistic sensibilities.
After completing his service in the military in 2022, Morale embarked on a new academic adventure. He is currently pursuing a Bachelor of Music in Music Industry Studies at Loyola University New Orleans, further refining his skills and understanding of the music industry.
Today, Morale is an integral member of the Tidal Wave Brass Band, celebrating their debut album "Tidal Wave: Washing The City Clean One Note at a Time," released in the Fall of 2023.
